I'm going into the navy Feb 9th, and I'm just kind of paranoid that I won't be ready. Currently 5'5 175 (overweight but i pass the BF %) I can run a 1.5 mile in 12:20, I can do 26 push ups, and around 50 sit-ups non-stop.

I'm sure I'm ok but I really am not sure what to expect because ppl just say "it was easy" and that don't tell me crap. I'd just like a few second opinions

It's not easy, but it's more mental than physical. If you're not mentally strong, you'll give up after 10 push-ups when a Drill is screaming in your face that your girlfriend back home is cheating on you and that you're a piece of dirt.

Your 1.5 mile time is pretty good. Keep working on it through interval training. Every other day, run 60/90s for 25 to 30 minutes: for sprint for 60 seconds, walk or jog for 90 seconds, sprint for 60 seconds, and so on. This will improve your speed.

Your push-ups and sit-ups need work. If you can do both of those amounts in 2 minutes or less, that's OKAY, but you still want to improve that. To improve push-ups, just focus on doing one extra push-up per week, and only do push-ups every other day.

For sit-ups, concentrate on doing 5 extra sit-ups per week. Again, only do them every other day, and make sure you're stretching out your abs.

Good luck.

Keep exercising on a daily basis. Run at least 3 or 4 times a week. You'll be fine.

i went to San Deigo in 1964...i am also a 10 yr Navy veteran and Vietnam veteran..i had very little problem in boot camp except i did miss home...outside of that...just keep your mouth shut and do as you're told..lots of marching and standing andf schooling...anchors away dude...

You have nothing to worry about except for psyching yourself out. Man you got this thing wired.
