I'm finishing building my website portfolio. Soon I'll have it online and will be looking for design jobs. In school we basically learned all the Adobe creative suite and html and css. They didn't put emphasis on learning php, java, action script at my college. It was more design side focused. I hope this is good enough to get started. My friend has been working in the field for 3 years already and he basically knew what I know when he started. I hope I have what it takes. I've been told I draw better than he does and he's had some very big jobs with microsoft, iphone apps and xbox.com. I worry if I'm ready.
How long does it take to learn code? I don't have another 2 years! I'm 33. I've wasted enough time, I should've stuck with it in my early 20's but I got terrified somebody would tell me to go "paint houses." Now my sites almost ready for potential employers and I'm freaking out. What if I'm not hired. This all I've ever wanted to do.
