I was involved in a accident that was not my fault over a month ago. To cut a long story short, my insurer told me that my car was a write off despite the fact that I said I wanted it repaired and was willing to put my own money towards this. After being passed to various departments, 2 letters of complaints I was told today that they had moved my car to salvage and that my car would be unfit for road use now it is in salvage (as it gets damaged by the trucks there). Not once did my insurance company notify me that they were moving my car from the garage, nor ask me to remove my belongs (still currently in the car!). The insurance company have therefore damaged my car (via the salvage company), but they state that they are not responsible for what the salvage company do to my car. I only bought my car a few months ago and wanted to repair it as I loved it! Please can anyone advise (especially if you know legal stuff!)
