long post with multiple dates)? Ok so on October 15th, this girl from one of my classes approached me in the hall at school. She had asked me if I was a guy who worked at an Autozone in the area. Once I told her that I had not worked in the area, she asked me if anyone ever told me if I have a nice monotone voice. I said, "No but I've had people tell me that I have a soothing voice" she laughed and was like "Like a DJ?" and I said "yea" and she laughed a little more. I had been staring at this girl weeks in class before she approached me on the 15th. If she saw me, she would smile but I would look away because I didn't want her to see me.
So then I asked her what her name was, she looked surprised like she couldn't believe that I had asked her what her name and told me. I told her my name and we shook hands.
I would try to talk to her more at school but whenever were not listening to our lecture in class, she's always talking to her best friend during break. She hasn't tried to talk to me at school.
As of right now, we have an email thing going on. This is the transcript of what's been said so far:
Me on October 15th: Hi this is (my name) from English, we met in the student center today(10/15). I didn't know you were Armenian! I'm part Armenian on my mother's side! =) There's not that many Armenians you know!
Her on October 25th: Deep voice guy?? lol No kidding-- your right, there is a very small handful of Armenians in this state. Thats very cool : )
Me again on October 30th: Yep that's me, deep voice guy! haha.
So hows your culture research coming?
That email was in response to her October 25th email. She didn't reply back to me on this one.
Me again on November 19th: Hey (her name), this is (my name) from English. I enjoyed your presentation on the Philippines. I understand how you forgot things while you were presenting. I do that a lot too because you're nervous and there's so much you want to touch on.
I think you did a good job.
Her again on November 23rd: Thanks (my name)!!! Im glad u enjoyed it!! I was sooo nervous! I hate presenting. Happy Turkey Day
Me last night/early morning (11/24): I was nervous when I presented too. I didn't have much time to rehearse my presentation! I felt like I was jumping all over the place with the material too. Italy has such an enormous culture that I was trying to touch basis on numerous areas. I was even considering adding a couple of slides to show all of the Italian automotive makers but I thought I had enough.
But yea yours was great. I liked how you gave the details of the Spanish and American influences in the Philippines. Their ocean scenery looked great too. Even though you were nervous, you still pulled it off convincingly and I learned a great deal from your Powerpoint.
Hey Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
I'm not sure what to think because every time we go on break during class, she talks to her best friend and that's it.
I've been emailing her and there. I thought I would catch her alone one day so I could talk to her in person but that hasn't happened.
I don't look at her too much in class anymore. I don't want to freak her out.
