Im 16 and for as long as i can remember i have had some huge mood swings. I can be completely fine all day, with my friends and be happy. And when i go home i might think of one thing that went bad in my day, and become depressed about it. I wont want to leave my house and I feel worthless all of a sudden. Then the next morning i can love life again. The depression has lead me to cut my wrists and use drugs to help me be happier. Is there any other dis order for this? And what should i do to stop it?

I'm in a similar boat as you my friend so don't take this as a simplistic approach, b/c its what I have to do myself.... but

1) Medication
2) Therapy

and you have to do that for the rest of your life.

You need to schedule an appointment with a psychologist asap and get them to give you an evaluation. Usually this is a 300 or so questionaire along with a meeting with the shrink where you tell them whats going on in your life. Answer the questions honestly and be open with the shrink. Only good can come from it. Don't be scared like I was at your age and not go for 9 years. You'll be throwing 9 years down the drain.

Hi
Does not sound like bipolar as your mood swings change on a daily basis, Bipolar tends to go in longer cycles of highs and lows. It is very difficult to diagnose someone of your age as it is often out down to just that... Your age. However the fact you are self harming and taking stimulants to make you happy I would suspect, you are suffering from depression. You know drugs are not the answer to make you happy. That is a short term solution to a long term problem. You need to seek some help firstly from your DR, then they can refer you to a therapist who can help you with your emotional well being. You need to be able to sort out what triggered your depression off in the first place. If you can remember that then you are well on your way to fixing the issues you may have. Get the help you deserve my friend and life will get better for you. You are certainly not alone in your feelings.
