I have been having problems with my Canon Rebel XT. I took it into a camera repair shop because my autofocus wasn't working properly (it was being really picky and not autofocusing in lighting and situations that should have been easy to auto-focus in). They said that I have a broken AF gear. I'm wondering if thats something that would be broken in the camera itself or just in the lens part.
If it's just in the lens, then I would consider buying a new different one instead, and waiting to fix this one until I have more money. The manual focus still works, its purely a problem with the auto-focus. I didn't think of asking where the gears are, I assumed they were in the lens, but I just want to be sure. Thanks!
