Suppose a female walking down the street looked completely like a man. (Whatever that culture deems as 'manly') And you have no doubt it's a man.
Suppose a male walking down the street looked completely like a woman. (Whatever that culture deems as 'womanly). And you have no doubt it's a woman.
And consider them both good looking. Like 10/10.
As a lesbian, looking at both these people I know I would be attracted to the one who is actually a male, who looks like a woman. If they were both naked, then I would be attracted to the one who is actually female.
But, does that mean that my sexual preference toward people in everyday life is based on culturally constructed expressions of sexuality (gender)?
With the exception of a few typical boyish lesbian crushes (Like L Word Shane), I am only attracted to feminine girls. But doesn't that mean I have more of a GENDER orientation (toward femininity)?
