This is what happened I was driving down a main street and the speed limit is about 55, everyone was going about 55-60mph. There were two cars in front of me, a white Nissan Altima 07, and in front of her was a CHP(California highway patrol) Pretty much a police officer. We were going 55-60mph and there were three lanes and two turn lanes coming up at an intersection the CHP Suddenly slammed on his brakes in the middle of my lane, let me tell you that there were two turn lanes that he couldv'e gotten into but he didn't. Then the lady behind him slammed on her brakes(07 Nissan Altima), and i slammed on mine and i was keeping a distance of about 100 or so feet, but i hit her. I was in a 05 Kia Sedona Van and they don't have the best braking systems compared to police vehicles, and the great braking system of the newer altima's.... I hit her going about 40. The CHP officer saw the whole accident and took off.... The reason he slammed on his brakes was to flip a bitch and pull over two speeding motorcycles.... so he did not get into the turn lane and did not stop after causing an accident. I want to know if im at fault and if i should sue the CHP?
Oh and i forgot to add that he didn't even pull over the motorcycles he let them go...cause that wouldve been incriminating evidence against himself.....Thank you
