As addition to George's comment, at Ft. Benning they locked them in a closet and we had some guys break into the closet and got their cell phones and mp3s out. Well one of the dip sh!ts left their phone on in their pocket. We walked past a Drill Sargent and it rang, even though we didn't know he had it we all got smoked for only god knows how long. After all that he was called out in front of the company and the First Sargent tore up his graduation packet and made him a Day-1 Recycle.
I don't think they use the closet anymore.
