Am i able to machine wash my north face backpack?

I have a white north face backpack and it has gotten really dirty over the years i have been using it at school. Do you think i will be able to put it in the wash to get it clean?

The north face website did not have a description on how to care for it, but I did do the live assistance chat, no one was there but you could try it. search the north face in yahoo and go to the website, in the upper right hand corner is a button that says chat now, click it and enter your information and wait for assistance.
