Having lived in Romania for a year and making regular visits to neighbouring countries (Bulgaria & Hungary), I can sympathise with OP's comments, what people in this country fail to grasp about SOME immigrants (especially ones from "poorer" counties) is that MONEY is everything, they don't have the same morals as most of us do. They would sell their grannies for £10, so I'm sure they would be persuaded to stay if they kick up enough fuss, get compensation and better accomodation out of it.
