Well Prozac is an anti-depressant, and in my situation it put me off the edge so now I'm taking Zoloft. Something just for anxiety - I would recommend Lorazapham - you take them only as needed. I don't know why you would get anti - depressants prescribed to you if you're not depressed.

Doctors......, you wonder sometimes.

I know you guys arnt Docs but your experience would be appreciated please........

I'm tapering off of Prozac as i felt after 2 years it wasnt really helping my anxiety, i dont have depression. My Doctor mentioned to me that if i was still having these terrible shortness of breath episodes after i come off Prozac, she would look for an alternative med.

I need a med for anxiety and NOT depression... Prozac was ok it made me less stressed, but only took a slight edge off the SOB. Does anyone take meRAB specifically for shortness of breath, or an inability to get a deep breath into their lungs, thats all i suffer from...no panic, not shakes,no sweats, nothing just Shortness of breath. So Prozac i think was probably a waste of time. Ive tried CBT and councelling nothing works. I know it IS when im stressed it gets worse, but nothing helps and im tired, tired, tired of this feeling :(

You might want to try Zoloft for anxiety, it has helped me, and has not made me more anxious, like some AD'S, like Celexa.

I am going to assume you talked your doc. I agree with confusedman klonipin, talk to your doc

I am already feeling a dependance on klonopin after only 3 weeks.....I am going to start tapering off of it.....

I'm on a dosage of 1 x 20mg Prozac every 5 days now, which is next to nothing.

I'm doing ok, but I dont feel great. I'm really tired, and i feel a bit low, i dont know if its the dark weather, the Prozac, or me just imagining it as i know im slowing it down.

I really hope i dont feel depressed, as i thought i only took them for anxiety attacks, which incidently i have been ok with since almost stopping. But I definetely feel in a low mood. Please God let it lift, as ive done so well coming off it, i dont want to go back on it, or any other meRAB.

I went on effexor and lexapro for anxiety. Helped me a lot but really hard to come off of.

prozac made did the complete oppisite it made me manic, so I think we are a little different I have take stabizers and benzos and celeza, then I am even. talk to your doc

Worrybucket, I too suffer from this response from anxiety, its really the only thing, like you, that I have with this dreaded affliction. Deep breathing has helped a bit right when it starts, but, when the fear takes over so quickly, its hard to actually do this. My doctor prescribed clonasepam(lowest dose), it seemed to help, along with taking lexapro.
