Hello all... I have been battling with acne since I can remeraber! I am going to try one last thing before I go to yet ANOTHER dermatologist and demand some kind of hormone controlling med... because for the last month I have been on Agnus Castus and Saw Palmetto with no real results. Every dermatologist I have been to just wants to give me an antibiotic and a cream. But I have been told my my facial lady that I have hormonal acne, and that my pores are VERY deep.

I have started trying the AHA products to get deep in my pores. I started using the Alpha Hydrox foaming cleanser and lotion treatment and it has made me break out TERRIBLE... but I read that that is supposted to happen. I have only been using the two for about 3 days. Yesterday I woke up and I had black heaRAB ALL OVER MY FACE (cheeks, chin, nose, forehead)... it was surreal... I usually just get them on my nose. So I squeezed all of those out, and now I am just seeing if my previous pimples will go away. But... the skin around my pimples looks pretty darn good!

Is anyone else using AHA glycolic acid products? Did this happen to you? How long should I wait until I stop using the products if the break outs continue?

Thanks!!!!!:D

In my opinion hormonal acne has nothing to do with whats on the outside, meaning cremes. Hormonal acne is controlled by testing for pcos, and taking birth control with spiro (hormone blocker) or accutane. Antibiotics only do so much and birth control too, but it's temporary. Read the spiro posts and see about that particular drug. Accutane drys up the oil but i don't think for some that it is permanent.

hormonal acne can't be helped by vitamins. it's the problem with too much testerone. Even if your tests are normal you can be low normal or high normal. if you are hormonally sensitive then you will have problems. symptoms are: some facial hair, cysts, oily skin . these symptoms can be worse than others. check for pcos too:)
