My Motorola ROKR just broke two nights ago and this weekend I'm planning on going to a Verizon store to try and get a new phone. I currently have an "Alltel" family plan that I had before the switch to Verizon, and my family still has all Alltel phones. I've been reading online, and it sounds like a new Verizon phone would require a new "Verizon" plan that the Alltel phones would not work with, forcing me to buy all new phones. I hope I am just misunderstanding, but is that true?
I could pull a few strings and try to go to an actual Alltel store (currently I'm not sure if any are still in business around my area), but I don't want to do that if I don't have to.
