alltel phone??????????????????????????

i have a alltel razor, and there is one year left on my contract. I want to upgrade to a motorola milestone, can i drop my current contract with alltel, buy the new phone and sign another contract with alltel for the new one? i know if you want to drop your contract it costs $200, but i dont know if they will let u cancel it for free if you are signing another contract with them, or if u can just upgrade you current contract to a smartphone one. anyone with any info thanks
