Alltel phone upgrade?

in July/August I'm renewing my contract with Alltel and so I going to get a new phone at a good price and I was wondering what kind of suggestiong you guys had. I currently have a Motorola V265 and I cant wait to get rid of it.

I basically just want a phone that is very simple to mod/put my own homemade ringtones on. I would prefer a camera but its not necessary since I've been living with a busted camera on my V265 for the past year. I also want speakerphone, but I'm pretty sure most phones now come with that right?

The cheaper the better

I'll try to throw in my opinion but by the time July/August rolls around it might be a bit outdated. Remember that with new phones coming out every few weeks that 3 months down the road you might have some new options.

Also with Alltel, you don't have to wait until your contract is up before you get a new phone. If you're within 90 days from the end of your contract you should be eligibile. So if your contract is up in July/August, you might be able to get a new phone at the discounted price now or soon. Also remember since you're looking for the absolute best price, if there's a Wal-Mart around you that sells Alltel and will allow you to upgrade, they usually carry the phones for less than Alltel Retail locations if you know what you want and don't need a reps advice. You might have to wait a while for the Wal-Mart person to figure out the computer and call Alltel for assistance on how to do it, but it will save $$$.

But for now I would avoid the Moto W315 because of how difficult it is to get ringtones on it. The Nokia 2865i doesn't have a camera but it would be a very nice, very cheap option if you can do without one. The KX16 and a645 are junk phones for cheap so avoid them at all costs. If there is a Wal-Mart, you can get a really nice Samsung U520 for around $25 or a Razr V3m for around $19 which are really nice units. If you feel safer or prefer the Alltel corporate store, you might find the Moto E815 for less than either one of those but it's listed online as $29 since the Alltel locations are a little higher. Modding and adding ringtones isn't something I do a lot of so you might want to also wait for a little more input on which model is best for that.
