Alltel has the PPC6800

Was anyone else aware of this? Alltel does not lock their phones, so we may be able to make more progress with this phone on Cricket now. There aren't any on eBay yet, but it's $550 new at http://www.alltel.com/phones/htc/6800.html.

The only thing... Alltels 6800 runs Windows Mobile 5

Have been trying to follow Verizon's 6800 It seems like it will not be realeased until Oct or later...
But no one knows for sure...

I've done a little bit of research and it looks like there's some discrepancy about whether or not it's running WM5 or 6. The Alltel site says it's running 5, but all of the pictures of it show it running 6. Hm...

The telus version was released with WM5, but soon after release, they released an upgrade to wm6.. I'd expect the same with Alltel

Someone over in my side of HoFo mentioned they were talking to a tech and the tech said that WM6 should be available at the very end of this month.
