Hello there,
This is my first post on the forum and just looking to see if anyone has similar experiences. I am 27 and have grown inti my allergies since the age of 25- I'm allergic to normal stuff like dust, certain chemicals in shampoos and shower gels. I also have food allergies but I am trying to work out the latest allergy. In the last year I have been woken up in the night with what feels like flu- hurting all over, including my face and I have shortness of breath and find it difficult to breath. I'm normally wiped out for the day and have had to take time off work before. Most of these incidents have happened while I was at my mums house and she has wet rot in the beams- I'm wondering if I'm allergic to the mold spores? The latest case was last night in my own house after having vistied mum for a few hours. Sorry to rant just wondering if anyone has any experience of this or the symptoms and if so what can help- apart from not going in the house!
Cheers for any advice

I have looked up the symptoms for wet rot allergy and they seem fairly consistent with what I've written.

hi there i suffer an all year round rhinitis problem but this year since the summer began its hit me hard with symptoms like always hot all over, stuffy head, nose, blocked ears, congested chest, dizzy feelings. I hate it. Not sure about the mold thing ive got to check that out cus i feel worse in the house than i do outside. Are you hampshire UK or US? im Birmingham, UK

Steeleye, I would bet all my money on that I think you are extremely allergic to mold! Do not sleep in a house like that. I lived in a house with mold in the basement for 3 years. I should not have stayed. I didn't think it was effecting me but it was. I was sick alot with all kinRAB of symptoms. It eventually shot my thyroid and I have developed hypothyroidism. It can wreak havic on your health. I would recommend that you not spend any long perioRAB of time in a place with mold. Good luck!

Im Hampshire UK- the Isle of Wight. I used to live at home with my mum and it got to the point that I couldn't finish a sentence without wheezing and coughing. Since moving out the reaction to the mold seems to have got more severe- I hate it- completely knackers me and feel crap for the whole day. Its only because I had a reaction last night after having visited mum that I've thought thats what it might be. I'm a teacher and before have put it down to being rundown and actually having flu- in short bursts!
Thanks for the reply- modern living is to blame for all this!
