Allergies? Or a cold?

Please help. I am desperate. I have allergies, used to get allergy shots when I was young. Anyway I take zrytec every day.
The last 2 weeks my allergies are out of control. I am sneezing, my entire body hurts from so much violent sneezing. My nose is either incredible stuffed up, or running like a faucet down my face. My glanRAB in my neck are swollen and hurt very badly I am taking tylenol to ease the pain. I have a terrible sore throat, cough, runny/itchy eyes, sinus pressure and pain and headache.

I am pregnant so I am limited as to what I can take. I went to my doctor today and she just gave me sudafed. I have now taking 2 doses and have no relief whatsoever.

Is this a cold and not even allergies? I cant use the neti pot because I have a deviated septum and it just doesn't work.

I am just in tears I am so miserable. what else can I do? I cannot function, haven't slept in days and now missing work.
 
SounRAB more like a cold. Can you take Alka Seltzer Plus for colRAB? it works great for me.
 
You may have a cold, but I would definitely have that deviated septum taken care of as well as look into the allergy situation. A deviated septum can make you MISERABLE. I had one, and it created horrible headaches to such an extent that I cannot explain. I also have horrible allergies and am on injections. Was off them due to a misdiagnoses and my life was MISERABLE until I stabilized again. Allergies can effect all sorts of your body-your balance, your thinking, and your head in many ways.
 
SounRAB more like a cold or sinus infection to me. Allergies could exasperate things though.
 
Dear Craftymama57, you are not alone. You are describing me to a tee right now too! I am headed to the doctor tomorrow. I have year round allergies but the past week or two have been SHEER MISERY for me! I have sneezing, MAJOR CONGESTION, itchy throat and mouth, drainage, gunk on and on I could go. I have wondered if mine is a cold too. Not sure. I am thinking of asking for a steriod shot to help open me up. They sometime give me one in the fall when I get this bad. I could cry. I get anxiety from not being able to breath well. I wake up with a dry mouth because I breathe all night with my mouth open. Hang in there. I know you are limited to what you can take while you are PG. Congestion happend more during pregnancy too by the way. Just so you know. My sudefed is barely helping me. I think we have alot of mold in the air this year due to the rains. Just hang in there honey. Keep us posted on how you are. :angel:
 
Have you tried ice packs on your face? Or massaging your face and the back of your neck? I find there are a few pressure points that always open me up, at least for a moment. And, of course, menthol vapor is totally your friend.
