I broke out in a full body rash in Noveraber, it finally went away after about 2 weeks, after taking a dose pack. It came back a week later, so I had another dose pack, it came back a week later as well. So I went to a different doctor and got a shot of hydocortisone, and a steroid pack and finally after 2 more weeks it went away. Last week,....IT CAME BACK this time, its on my chest and neck. I wake up and my eyes are swollen and so are my ears...I'm so lost as to what to do.

I haven't been eating anything differently, I've never been allergic to anything. The only medication I take daily is Ortho tri Cyclen birth control which I've been taking for over a year. I'm so frustrated I just want to break down. HELP! i don't want to go to more doctors because I am full time student and cant afford health insurance so every time I go I pay out of pocket and they really don't help me...

Mine is a full body rash also, they are huge swollen welts on my body, legs, arms and occasiionally on my face. Some mornings my lips an eyes are swollen to a point I cant stand for anyone to see me. I have seen a specialist and it's a guessing game for them as well. I have been on a blog today that was very discouraging , but I know I'm not alone. Most people come to terms that they have to live with it, but I am not there yet. I go back to the dr. friday.Mine is not food ar drug related either, it worries me it could be something internal. They have done blood test and a chest xray. You can read peoples stories on a chronic urticaria blog. If I find something that works for me I will let you know and please do the same.

I heard about this awhile back, I think on animal planet, the lady described the exact same thing. This lady had taken a trip, stayed in a hotel, as it turned out, she had picked up bed bugs. (No I'm not joking and they are real)
You may want to have your bedding tested. The easiest way to know is to look at you mattress and if you see black spots around where the matress is sowed together, then you need to throw it out. Have your home tested and cleaned if nessesary. But you can't always see them, the mattress will only have black spots if they've been there awhile. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

what about any change in laundry detergent or lotion? even if it is the same, is it new and improved formula or scent? any new drink?

I didn't know that! very cool info :) and yes, you are so right, the sky is definitely the limit. I saw my dermatologist and he told me I may have developed a pollen allergy, although I haven't had an allergy in my 22 years of living til now :( He gave me some cream and the rash has gone away but he has advised me to not put anything on my nails because of different bases in nail polishes and nail products in general so I'm going to go cold turkey on no manicures for a little while lol. He also told me if it continues to come back he is going to have to test me for Lupus... :( ::sigh:: let's hope this goes away for good this time!

Lots of things cause allergies, the skys the limit. My wife cleans the lettuce and puts it in a gal zip lock bag with a paper towel to help catch the water. A few days later
the paper towel is red, the red is the pesticides leaking out of the lettuce.

Our environments changes constantly and so does are food.

You could have an allergy to fluoride, it's every where, in our water, food, soda's, fruit juice, every product canned in a fluoridated city, has fluoride in the products, I bet you didn't know that!

I developed allergies in my 30's--I have been getting 5 shots a month for years and will continue for the rest of my life. It is common, from what I have learned over the years, if you eat, drink, use, the same thing over and over, it can develop into an allergy. Animals, pollens, dust/mites, mold, are the shots I get.

Did your birth control change manufacturers? There are many additives to generics and can cause reactions.

Yeah, I ddeveloped allergies when I was 20. I was born and raised in California, and when I joined the military I moved to Florida, and everything there is sooo different. I ended up in the Emergency Room a couple of times because I have anaphylactic reactions.

I had the same rash you're describing once, and it was on and off for about a week before I figured out what it was. People kept asking me about my laundry detergent, I tried switching to the dermatologist safe one. I tried sooo many countless things. I got to the point that all I ate what rice and potatoes in case it was food related, nothing, still a rash. The rash showed up one day, and within 5 minutes of it starting, it was literally from head to toe. palms, crotch and all. it was swelling into bumps too. I had to take off all my clothes becasue they hurt to touch my skin. My boyfriend walked in and i was on the floor balling tears, and naked and red. He took me back to the ER for the fourth time that week. they again gave me a shot of cortizone, and in 2 hours i went home exhausted.

After all is said and done, I realized it was the water I was drinking. At the beginning of all this I had a slight stomach bug, and I bought this sparkling water at wal-mart, a cheap store brand, I got a whole bunch of different flavors. I loved them, and everytime I would drink some, the rash would show up and my throat would hurt.
The same thing happened when i drank a sparkling Fresca soda.

I am allergic to an ingredient that makes the drinks "Sparkling" Its hard to pronounce, or spell, but i recognize it when i see it,.

Just goes to show you, anything is possible when it comes to being allergic to "something"
Change one thing at a time, and when it stops, itll be narrowed down, doctors cant teat for every little thing.

O, and by the way, about the bed bugs, they can be in carpet too, they arent just limited to your bed. Just a heaRAB up.
