Is there anyone out there who is like me? I am allergic to perfume to the extent that I go in to anaphylactic shock. It is very scary and I have a really hard time with this. I can hardly go places or anything be cause of all the smells. They put me on zyrtec which does nothing aand I carry an epepin. I am open for suggestions.......I need some help I am only 43 and I do not want the rest of my life to be like this.

I have the same somewhat the same problem. Have you tried allergy injections? If not, and you do start them, it will take time for them to build up your immune system. I receive them, but still am leery of going to the theater, etc. If you find a good cure, please let me know.

Why don't you try Clartin reditabs. They dissolve on your tongue
quickly, and might stop a reaction before it gets worse. They're over
the counter too. Peoples' cologne and perfume bothers me a lot too
especially if they wear too much of it, which unfortunately, many do.

Do you have a purely allergic reaction or do you have asthma as well.

I have both.

The perfume smells have never caused an anaphylactic reaction in me, buy it has triggered my asthme severely to the point I have trouble breathing. Using my rescue inhaler helps me some in those cases. The Epi-pen is my friend also. Scary when you have to carry it around everywhere "just in case". I've had an epi-injection only once in my life and that was one time too many.

Liquid benedryl would also be something good to take with you. It works very quickly. And I also suggest looking into asthma as a cause. Albuterol might help if that's the case.
