Is anyone allergic to wine coolers?? I drank Baqaurdi Malt liquor wine cooler. Before too long my nose feels swollen inside and congested. My throat feels gunky and tight. I feel a little panicky like I hope it doesn't get any worse. I took Benadryl and hopefully this will clear it up.

Hi,not saying your allergic to malt liquor in general which you may be but alcohol dilates blood vessels causing your sinus passages and merabranes to swell and the result is a stuffy cannot breathe out your nose feeling which is common in some people,I have severe allergies and sinus infections and make it a point to stay away from alcohol because of this.If you have tried other alcohol beverges and they do not do this to you, you may be allergic to a ingredient in that particular product

I think it is the malt liquor or preservatives. It always hapens with this wine cooler brand. I don't drink much anyway. And this just proves that I don't want to. It just makes me feel so lousy it really isn't worth it.

It could be an allergy to the malt. Do similar symptoms happen when you drink a malted milk shake, or eat malted milk balls? Not sure what else malt is in. It's one of my allergies, but not sure if it is due to the malting process, or because it is made from grains, frequently wheat, which I am highly allergic to.

I have lots of allergies, some serious and some just a nuisance. Who knows what preservatives are in some of the alcoholic beverages!

I usually feel really crappy after drinking a beer, especially the heavy ones.

I'm OK with some mixed drinks but not all and only drink them once or twice a year, it that.

If I drink whiskey I usually throw it right up. I won't get close to the stuff.

Bold red wines and I get along ok but usually only one or two small glasses.

I've made homemade wines with no preservatives and can manage a couple small glasses of them too but they don't taste as good as store wines.

I did get sort of drunk a few years ago on red wine at a party and ever since my wife says I'm an alcoholic. Since she hasn't had a drink in about 30 years I guess she wins the argument.

When I was much younger and didn't have all the allergies I drank a lot more but now I can't.
