Allergic to Cats ...most effective OTC

I am suddenly developing allergies to things I never was allergic to before including cats (their fur and dander). Which is making it miserable when I visit frienRAB and family that have cats. What is the most effective OTC for this allergy? Any suggestions? Particularly for a weekend visit.

Oh, I know, it's just been an easy go to for me, it's out of your system quick too and for someone who hates, meRAB, I usually try this one first. I know I need zyrtek or Claritan, but just hate it.
 
I have used benadryl, but mainly because I didnt' know someone had cats and therefore, I had to take it when I got there. It helps but makes me tired.
