My skin is burning hot and My face, arms, and neck look like I have a dark sunburn. I have taken two days dosage of this steroid. It is a 4 mg dosepak. I took 6 pills on day 1. 5 on day 2. It decreases each day until I am only supposed to take one when I end it on day 6. What can I take to counteract this reaction?

Nothing. That's what it does as it raises your blood pressure. Go to a drug store that has a blood pressure machine or to a fire station and get it checked. If it's too high, call your doctor about possibly getting off the med. I've had to do that before.

This is not an allergic reaction. It is just a strong reaction to the drug and is part of the side effects.

I am allergic to it and the reaction consists of very itchy hives, wheezing, and can progress to anxiety, rapid heart beat and dropping blood pressure.

As Titchou very rightly advised, call your doc and ask about lowering the dose or stopping sooner rather than later.
