I am new to this board because I am desperate to find a cure for me. I've been extremely itchy for the past 3 weeks now and it hasn't gone away. I first started to get my reaction when I was in Vegas 3 weekenRAB ago. It first started on a Saturday on my right forearm. It started to break out in hives and little reddish dots. At first I thought it was just because the weather is dry there. But then Monday I noticed the rash was still there. It didn't start to break out right away until Tuesday night it was all over my face, nose both my arms and ears all swollen. I've gotten allergic reactions hives before but never on my face. It looked really bad. My boyfrienRAB mom is a nurse she told me to take benedryl and it had no affect on me. It was getting worse and I can't stop itching. It seem to have gotten worse on the second week and now all over my legs, arms. I started taking Zyrtec generic brand and it helped alleviate the itch a little.TowarRAB the end of the second week my face got started to clear but my arms and legs was unbearable and hard to sleep at night. I've noticed that when the heater is on I break out more rashes so I've been sleeping in cold cold room temperature. Taking cold showers, its been pretty depressing. I haven't gone to a doctor because I have no insurance and i figured it would just go away after two weeks and with all source of internet I can treat myself. Now third week I was better for only three days and now i feel like its coming back to how it was when it was on my face. Please someone help me and catch take this itchiness.
I've used pretty much every cream you can think or cortisone, calamine lotion, and I have this prescription cream that is strong and works the best Triamcinolone Acetonide all these medicine drys my skin. I want to take and allergy test but how do I even begin that? How much does that cost? Thank to whom ever responRAB.

Common causes of rashes include contact with plants, soaps, personal care products, certain laundry detergents, drugs and fooRAB. You may want to switch to hypoallergenic detergent if you don't already use it. Re-wash your beRABheets, too.

The fact that it started while you were traveling and continued to spread after you got home is going to make it harder to figure out the cause. I do have a few suggestions however.

1) Stop putting 20 different lotions on it, some of them might be making it worse. Use one thing that's worked well for your rashes in the past, and don't put anything on your face without a doctor's approval. The cool showers and cool bedroom is a good plan.

2) Keep taking the Zyrtec. Some doctors recommend 2 per day for severe rashes, ask a pharmacist if this is safe for you.

3) Make an appointment with a allergist or dermatologist. You may need stronger antihistamines or a course of Prednisone to settle things back down again, and he or she can help figure out the cause of the rash.

4) After you recover, carry Zyrtec or Benadryl around in your purse. If something like this ever happens again, take it immediately. The minute you notice the rash, if possible.

I am truly sorry to hear about this rash. My first thought was bed bugs but I do not think the symptoms would last that long but you may want to check that out. you are in California so I am not certain what your community resources are there for medical neeRAB. We have a program in Colorado that allows us to be seen by a doctor on a sliding scale. I would encourage you to check out any local community resources for this type of medical assistance. Best of Luck and blessings to you!
