because 15th amendment gave African Americans the right to vote. the northern women had nothing to do with it, but whites didn''t like it because they didnt want AA's to have that power also
it WAS part of reconstruction and the congress required tha the southern states ratify it
It said that the right of citizens in the US shouldnt be denied because of skin color or race...i have a huge exam on this stuff tomorrow:]
