I've had this problem with Vivo operator in Brazil. Their SIM has a option to automatically add a Interurban Provider code before number dialed. Spoffing the number dialed caused the phone to restart. Try to find the option to automatically add long distance dial codes (in my particular case the for this GSM operator was "Vivo DDD") in SIM menu and disable it.
