Algae eating fish, for 1/2 acre size pond?

Hey all. I need some input on fish. I have a pond about 1/2 acre in size, that every year, gets a nice thick coating of surface algae. I've tried algaecides to keep it from happening, but it doesn't even phase it. Does anyone know of any fish that love surface algae, that are also catchable. I've heard grass carp will eat it, but are hard to catch.
