Ok, so I recently got the Alesis DM6 Electronic Drum Set from rockbandparts.com with the intention of using it to play Rock Band on my Xbox 360. After the set coming in and me finding out that the Alesis DM6 Module is unusable with Rock Band, the guy from their website said that the only thing I needed was the ION Drum Rocker Module for the kit to be compatible with my Xbox 360.
I put my annoyance at buying more things aside and simply ordered the part because he told me that's all I needed, no big deal. I tested the kit once or twice and found that the pads were extremely responsive and the Kick Pedal's pad was almost ridiculously so. The slightest tap would bring about a kick. I even found a cheaters way to do really fast double-kicks because it would hit and bounce back and hit again very slightly.
Well anyways the module finally came in yesterday and much to my unfortunate surprise they didn't give me any cables to attach the drum set to it. The Alesis module has a special plug that splits into a bunch of cables for the pads and cymbals, the ION has 8 individual cables for it instead. Luckily basic Electric Guitar cables work so me and my friend scrounged up 8 guitar cables from our houses and finally got the thing all hooked up. After all this trouble we FINALLY start playing Rock Band and the very first thing I notice is that the Kick Pedal hardly responds at all.
The only way to get a note out of it is to slam your foot down hard on the pedal. It requires way too much of a hit to activate and I can't figure out the problem. I switched the cables tons of times, it's not those (unless the ION cables differ from Electric Guitar cables). And it's not the rubber absorbing the impact too much because as stated earlier when in Alesis mode the kick was incredibly responsive.
I'm at a complete loss right now, and I know this was really really long but I'm trying to give as much detail so nobody suggests something that I already did or maybe they see the problem somewhere in there.
Quick help appreciated!
