I am 4 weeks free of all my narcotic pain medication. My pain issues have mysteriously improved, so I was able to taper off all my meRAB. I was on/off them for 4 years, and on them daily for over 2 years. I am finally feeling better after my withdrawals and am getting my appetite back. Well, last weekend I had my first glass of wine at dinner. I was expecting to feel the effects right away and even joked with my husband that I might pass out in the car on the way home. Well after a glass, I really didn't feel much of anything? Then a couple nights ago my husband and I shared a 2 for 1, Margarhetta (sp), and again, I didn't feel much? I am not a big drinker, but I used to like having 1 or 2 glasses of wine to relax at the end of a long week. I could never drink more than 2 glasses. I am wondering if being on the narcotics for so long has increased my tolerance to alcohol? Are they even related??

Thanks!

Hi JRABun ! ! !
Welcome back ! First i want to say that i am so proud of you for getting clean & off of the narcotics. Congrats ! ! ! I am so proud of you ! As you must be so very proud of yourself !

Unfortunately i can't answer your questions because i dont know the answers but i know that somebody will come along shortly to help you.

I have been thinking about you & keeping you in my prayers & i will continue to do so.

I bet it feels great to be able to have a glass of wine again, huh? It must also feel a little strange after not being able to do that for so long, huh?

I know, a few days ago i was in the store & i had seen that my favorite brand of alcohol had just came out with a new flavor & i was like "Oh, man, i can't try that" but i wanted to so bad but until im off of these pain meRAB its not an option.

I'm so happy for you. Take care & God bless.
