Alarm/Key fob problem with Ford StreetKa?

When I lock my car with the key fob, my car indicators flash and the car locks every time (as its meant to).
When I unlock my car it doesn't flash and 5/10 it unlocks. sometimes when it does unlock, i start up the car and the alarm goes off.

is this a problem with the key fob or the alarm?
