Alabama authorities say at least 17 people have been injured after a gunman starting shooting into a bar in downtown Tuscaloosa.
No deaths had been reported in the gunfire, which happened early Tuesday at around 1 a.m., according to The Tuscaloosa News. DCH Regional Medical Center is treating three victims in serious condition, WBRC reports. A hospital spokesman told the Associated Press that two others are in critical condition.
Police say someone walked up to the Copper Top Bar and began firing inside the location, WBRC reports.
Riley Dunn, a University of Alabama senior who was injured in the shooting, estimated that there were 80 to 90 people in the area at the time.
Dunn said there was one gunshot, then, about 20 seconds later, "that's when he really started firing them off" and everyone scattered.
City police Sgt. Brent Blankley told the Associated Press that no arrests had been made. Surveillance video released by police showed a man described as a suspect. He is seen from the back as he walks down a sidewalk with what appears to be a gun in one hand.
Tuscaloosa police have called a news conference for 10 a.m. Tuesday to release more details of the shootings.
