My name is Chris, i am a 19 year old who just finished his first year of college. College was ok, but not my thing. I didnt enjoy it one bit other than the fact i was a 2 sport varsity athlete. Right now i am in the enlistment process for the Air Force, planning on trying to get into the PJ pipeline, CCT or TACP. Ive always wanted to be a Ranger, but im not really sure what i want right now. I also want to look into the Seal pipeline, but im not quite sure if you need a college degree to be elidgable. I currently have 45 college credit hours and i am elidgable to receive e-3 after basic for AF.

Any information would help greatly and will be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris.

Hi Chris
I am the mother of an Army Sgt. who did one tour to Iraq. He also was very involved in sports during his high school years, that will help you get through Basic Training. Being a Ranger is extremely difficult work and involved training. You will be sent on missions and unable to communicate with your family.

Maybe sticking with the Air Force is what would be best because you mentioned you "were not really sure being a Ranger is what you want right now".

Good luck with your choice and GODSPEED!

Go for pararescue!!! If you can pass indoc, you can do anything! But be sure you know, it has a 90% washout rate, and remember even top athletes like yourself washout daily over the little guys. Being an athlete in college will help you out, no doubt there, But you will need to train way more than you ever have before, before entering PJ indoc.

And another bit of information....If you decide to go for PJ, HIT THE POOL NOW!!

Good luck.
