I work in an open plan office with air conditioning. For the last 2 years I have suffered with non-stop sneezing, runny nose, blocked nose, sore throat, muscular aches, nausea, shortness of breath, sinusitis, and sore, itchy and watery eyes.

The symptoms start when I have been in the office for some time, like in the afternoon, and become severe in the evening after I have left work.

These symptoms often improve on days away from the work place and sometimes as soon as I leave the building.

Despite these severe symptoms, we were not allowed to open the windows. I always felt tired and craving for fresh air. For the last 6 months, we were allowed to open the windows, and since it has been confirmed that the air conditioner has been maintained accurately, there has been a vast improvement in my symptoms.

Since I started work, most of my sickness has been related to the same problem. Recently, I have attended several GP and hospital appointments. Currently I am suffering with a swollen and painful nose.

What is it and is there anything I can do?
