AIM Video Chat!..................................?

When I select video chat and my friend confirms, my webcam just shows myself. I cannot see her nor she can see me. We just see our own faces on the screen and need to know how to reverse that -- I Will choose a best answer, and thank you for reading this!
 
that exact thing happened to my friend and i!! i didnt know if it was because i have a pc and she has a mac or what, but yeah idk!
