And what would the vet do on Monday?
I asked a question around a week ago about it. There was a mysterious circle shaped wound on his belly. I didn't know where it came from, but the next day after some cream it had a scab over it so I figured we were in the clear. Now I have looked (it takes a lot of looking, he is furry and very large) and I discovered that it has grown. It is still smaller than a penny but it is pink, no scab in sight. It is right on the surface of his skin, not deep. So, why didn't this wound heal? And if it has been open why wouldn't it be green/infected? Is there anything I am able to do at home for it? What would his vet do? If she is going to use animal-version of antibiotic cream I COULD do that here instead and save him the agony of being poked and prodded (not to mention traveling 64 miles round trip). If he appeared to be suffering in any way or if the sore was huge and had green puss coming out I would fly to the vet. I have had injuries much larger than this without seeking medical attention but I have never seen one stay open and pink. I am on the fence here as you can see, because this has never happened before. Someone please share your wisdom. Thank you. =]
