Also it leads to committing a classic villain mistake of talking to much of antagonistic mocking comments rather than finish their opponent off when they have the chance. At least Shredder was smart enough to realize that even with the loss of one turtle he was still capable of being defeated by 3 martial artist turtles.
Superman vs Darkseid Darkseid strongly underestimated Superman that he was just a insect incapable of defeating him. Superman made a bet with Darkseid, and if he won he would get back his friend Stee back whom Darkseid was holding hostagel. Not only did Superman beat one of his best foes he did it in convincing fasion by punching him so hard Darkseid's eyes became swollen up.
Bane vs Joker The psychotic deplorable clown was dumb enough to pick a fight with Bane who is his superior in so many ways including combat by miles. Bane ended up defeating him with ease including doing the same severe move he used on Batman with the whole back breaker.
Dr.Doom vs Fantastic Four So many times Mr.Fantastic and his three teammates have made Dr.Doom look like a overlyconcieted fool in many defeats who still believes he is incapable of doing anything wrong, or any one is his equal or better than him.
Ghost Rider vs Lucifer The Spirit of Vengeance has made the overly concieted demon look like a fool defeating his avatars on Earth without a problem.
Ghost Rider vs Madcap The psycho loco was stupid enough to take on the Spirit of Vengeance. But to top it off he honestly believed he was incapable of being affected by the penace stare when he was.
