I've had this common pleco for about 2 1/2 years and he's around 8.5 inches big. He's in a 55 gallon tank with 2 silver dollars, 1 discus, 3 albino corydoras, 3 golden wonder killifish, and an otocinclus.
Now for the past week his aggression has gone out of control. He's seriously trying to tear my other fish apart. He'll chase the two silver dollars (7 and 8 inches big) around the tank, back and forth, non-stop, while trying to slash them with his fins. He even does the same with the cories and discus. Because of this my silver dollars aren't getting their fair share of wafers anymore.
I know my tank is too small for him in the first place, but I can't find a better home for him. Now I'm attached to him too. My intent was to get a larger tank, but I don't have the room or money for one anymore. He's the only reason I got the 55 gallon in the first place.
What should I do? Is there anything that will stop the aggression? And why is he being aggressive? Also how much longer can I keep him in this tank?
