Aggravation

There are rumours that they may get it in the first quarter next year. Not sure how that timing will work if the Javelin is scheduled to show up the same quarter. We are looking forward to both units in our shop.

Because Verizon and at&t believe in grabbing exclusitivity on devices so they throw a lot of money at the manufacturer's to get new devices before anyone else can.

I do know that over the past 6 months I have had many a customer come in complaining that most of the devices at&t is offering them (non PDA units) are pos phones. I have had multiple customers compliment T-Mobile on their entire lineup. T-Mobile is just a little more cautious about spending good money on a device to grab an exclusive contract. The reason I think they got the G1 first is because they were the only carrier that could actually launch the phone almost world wide on the same day.

Verizon has been kicking everyone's a__ when it comes to cool phones across the board with the exception of the iPhone. They have seemed to jump on a touchscreen bandwagon. Last time I counted they had over 7 touchscreen units available in their lineup so I wasn't surprised to hear they had grabbed the Storm especially with all the delays RIM had with the Bold.

also if a device is not complete t-mobile will not launch it until it is ready to go out. some of the other carriers will sacrifice quality for quantity. just like when the motorola rarzs launched.

however, what sense does it make to launch the t-mobile G1 as their exclusive device and the storm at the same time. once popularity of the G1 slows down they will answer with more devices that are high tech, and 3g enabled, as well as popular devices that people will want. it's a very smart tactic
