Age to start ballroom dance?

I love ballroom dance. I am 13 and love to dance ballroom. Do you think I'm too old to start ballroom dancing, if I want to go professional when I become an adult? Please reply if you know what your talking about. God bless and thanks!

You are at good age to start ballroom. Although many professionals start at age 6-7, just as many start in their teens. It is possible to start even as an adult and reach a very high level, but not the world-class level. Just to give you an idea, it takes about 6-7 years to become really good in ballroom if you train with good teachers and don't waste any time. So if you start now you will be a good dancer when you are 19-20.

Those who start in their 20s and later tend to stay amateur forever or turn into social ballroom teachers which is not the same as competing professionals.

Hey you are definitely not too old. i started when i was eleven and that was four or five years ago and my teachers all say that i will be able to be a Professional when im older. Please start asap so you have more time to enjoy it! Its a great sport and great way to socialise. Ballroom and latin dance are so fun and dancing makes you feel so happy if you live in australia go to marshere god bless xx
