Aftermarket shocks for my 2000 Suzuki Marauder vz800?

"Progressive Suspension" lists a part for:
VS800 Intruder/ Blvd S50

I am looking to get new rear shocks for my bike but i can not find anyone that makes an aftermarket shock for my particular make and model. A lot of companies make shocks for the Suzuki Intruder 800. If I got a rear shock that was made for the intruder but was the same length as my stock rear shocks would they work on my bike?

If not does anyone know where i can get aftermarket shocks for my bike?
