after reading many posts, i am now scared..

so my last thread, i was very happy and excited that i made the decision to get off the perks and morphine....i am going the suboxone route. initially i could not get an appointment with the doc until dec 16th, but my wonderful counselor is helping me so much and may be able to get me an appt this week..he actually gave me his cell nuraber and i cam calling him in the morning to find out. I have a 6 and 3 year old and really cant go through major w/d's, but i have been reading about people getting ill right away on the sub....i am so nervous now...i plan to do a rapid detox with the sub...like 3 to 4 weeks and i am planning on not feeling so hot going off of it, but i dont want to be sick instantly. i also thought that the doc has you take your first dose in front of him at the office, but my doc doesn't....i need to be done with these meRAB and i truly feel sub is the way i want to go..maybe i should stop reading all the threaRAB and just experience it for myself...i dont know....emsmom- i see that is was great for you(the sub)..my situation is similar to what yours was..how did you feel right away on the sub?? any one else have any advice............So i call in the morning, i will be in touch and let you know when or if i start the sub......thanks all
 
There was one very physically fit, athletic guy who was on here a few months ago, but I don't remeraber his id. He was in you position and detoxed with the suboxone in 3 weeks and was completely off everything w/o and withdrawals and got back to his drug free life after that. He's the guy that proved to me that using Sub like it is intended can really make a difference with the detox. If you stick to your schedule with the sub, you shouldn't feel anything and will be able to give your kid an ever better Christmas this year (even though you won't be completely off of it by then). I know a girl that took up to 30 pills a day and went on sub reducing amount everyday, she was off in one week and truly believes it was a miracle for her as she could never get past 5 days of w/d...wish I had access to it..I wouldve tried it..
 
If you taper off of the sub, I don't believe that you will have bad w/d's from what the people on this forum have said in the past.
