after pop-eye in a fish that's healed, does it become blind?

well the good news is that the platy that had popeye is good and healthy, even swam out of it own breeder box thing while having treatment. the bad is that a dwarf gourami died :''''''''''( it didn't even have any symptoms. anyways, so the platy healed and is swimming and eating. but they're doesn't appear to be any pupil is she permanently blind? will the pupil grow back? thanks
oh and will being blind in one eye efect her at all?
