Hi, I would be sure to get at least another opinion on this. I don't want to be negative but make sure that you don't rush into this and do plenty of research on this subject.
I had my hardware removed and to be honest, I am worse off than I was before. You have to remeraber when they remove the hardware, they are not simply unloosening a screw and bolt -- they are chiseling these hardware out. If you are not fully fused, it could weaken the fusion and everything could fall apart. When they are going in to do the surgery they are making more scar tissue when they cut thru the muscles which is known to cause alot of pain. Again, I don't want to sound negative but research this. It is possible that this may end your pain but it could also cause more problems.
Have you had a recent mri/ct scan/myelgram to make sure there are no other problems and that you are fused?
