After I got DOMS(really tense muscles) after i over trained at the gym.. my

muscles got weaker. why? I over trained after taking a long break from the gym. Then i couldnt put my hands down for a few days. And now they have no pain, but I cant lift the same weight. Its been about a 2 weeks since it got tense, but like a week and a half after it felt better. Now its hard for me to go back and do what i usually did. Can anyone help me out.. will it get better?
just to make sure you guys understand.. I can lift what i use to lift, lets say i was doing 30s now i can life 20s but barely.. and it starts to hurt.
