after boot camp, then what?

Okay, so i ship to paris island october 20th, & was wondering, after bootcamp, where will i go? is there a chance that i will be stationed at a base in the u.s or sent to japan or something? i want to be sent to afghanistan so if i do get sent somewhere else, can i request to go to afghanistan?, likehow does that work? thankks
 
AIT(Advanced Individual Training) thats gonna take another several months. No one gets sent to battle right after boot camp thats just a lie spread by the left to scare people away from the military.
 
First off, there's 2 r's and it's a proper noun.

After basic training/boot camp, you will go to SOI. If you are an infantry(03) MOS, you will train at ITB. Non-infantry will train at MCT Bn. Then, you will go to MOS school, for your specific MOS. ITB is about 2 months, 59 days or something like that. MCT is 22 days
