Hi,
I hope some one out there can help me by giving me some advice.
I was involved in a car accident 2 weeks ago, got hit from behind while stationary. The second row of seats in my jeep were down, it's a 7 seater, and as they are on runners, the seat behind me flew forward and the headrest hit my back.I suffered whiplash and immediate discomfort in the bottom of my back.
I went to A&E about 1 hour later as my back felt very uncomfortable and it hurt when I sat down more.
A doctor asked me to stand with my back to him, I was already standing as sitting was too uncomfortable. He gently ran his fingers down my spine and then declared that I must of sprained my coccyx. Told me to take some painkillers and see my doctor if the pain did not go away.
1 week later I was not sleeping because of the pain in my lower back, sitting for any length of time causes more pain in my lower back. So I spoke to my GP on the telephone.
She said she had the report from A&E and suggested that the doctor had said I did not appear to be in much pain! HUH! that's a laugh what sort of doctor is he?? She suggested that I must have got a whiplash and prescribed me more painkillers.
It is now 3 weeks later, nothing has changed. My insurers are now sending me to physio but surely I should have had an xray. The diagnosis has only surely been made on assumptions.
I already have cervical spondilitis so I assume this has now been agrivated.
I never had any back pain before the accident.
Can any one advise me as to what they think or would have expected.
Thank you
