I just had allergy testing last week and was stunned to find how much I am actually allergic to. MolRAB, dust, trees, weeRAB, dogs, cats, cockroaches, the list goes on. Anyways, I am taking Allegra, Flonase, Sinus washes 2X a day and benadryl when really foggy.

My allergist did suggest allergy shots since the allergies I have are a constant year round thing. She suggested working with the allergy meRAB for now, and considering shots at a later date.

I am curious about the shots, what do they do? Do you take the meRAB while taking the shots? She said because I am young, that the shots should be pretty effective. Would I really not be allergic to dogs and cats after the shots?

And what are some negatives of the shots? Besides the obvious CRAPPY schedule! And does it make you feel that much better? For those of you who have had the shots, regrets?

Sorry about all the questions, I am a curious allergy sufferer!

Also, I did have a CT of my sinuses, and structurally they are perfect... all my sinus issues are a 100% allergies.

Yes! They are great for most people. And yes, you can go into a kennel, a field of flowers, etc with no prpoblems. Yes, you can take your antihistamines while getting them. In fact you should take one the day of your shots. Since you are young, they should work well. The ones I did in my teens lasted till my 30's. The onesIdid then lasted to my 50's and the ones I did then are still working at 63.

Good luck!
