I started roaccutane just after christmas and was put on a dosage of 30mg/day and given a second appointment which is coming up next week, when the dermatologist said he would up the dose to 50mg.
I was given 2 boxes of pills, 20s and 5s so every day i take 1 20mg and 2 5mg pills. However, I have run out of 5mg pills as the hospital apparently gave me enough for 28 days then gave me an appt for 33 days later. At the time I assumed (I think, fairly!) that they'd give me enough to last til my next consultation.
Called the hospital today to ask if i could come in and pick up a repeat prescription and was told I couldnt do this. The nurse said I should just take 20mg a day til Tuesday as it 'Won't make much difference'. I asked if I could just take 40mg between now and Tues and she said she wasn't allowed to let me do that.
I'm pretty worried about lowering the dose as I really don't want to set back my treatment. Surely upping the dose by 10mg (when its going up to 50 next week) is better than lowering it by 10.
Anyone have any advice on this???
