I started off with the mindset of indoors only so from 6 weeks old hes only had indoors (with the odd escape and capture outside) so, he cries at the door, windows etc... its like havin a newborn!! so I got his injections and hes now neutered, should I let him go outside? hes also insured with petplan.
we live in a family estate (not a council one) we bought our house, its quiet about a 10 minute walk from a main road but not a busy one, the vet even agreed I should let him out as theres no risk of coyotes etc here its ireland, my biggest worry would be cars.

What should I do guys??
hes 9 months now and really wanting out, in this country Id look a rite eejit walkin him on a lead!! but I get it, its just so hard to decide...do i keep him indoors and alive but maybe sad, or let him out and he cud die but doin what he loves??? ahh its so hard

It's really up to you!

I believe in keeping cats as indoors only.....but, that's coming from me who has lived in the city my whole life.

If there doesn't seem to be much danger.....then you could let him out.

But, I would rather be safe than sorry!

Cons of letting kitty out

fights with other animals
cars
eating plants and things that may not be good for it

Pros
kitty really really really really wants out and its annoying to hear it meowing and crying all the time.
kitty can run and play and have fun as well as get exercise.

I started off saying my old cat would stay indoors but she was an indoor outdoor cat in her preivous home so I let her out int e back mostly she was too old fat and big to really get very far.
I let her out in the front and another kitty bit her, it got infected and required emergency surgery over the weekend that cost over 1000

Current kitty is only 6 months old and I really really want to keep her inside but she meowed so much to go out i let her out supervised in the backyard but still worried about her getting into things she
shouldn't.

is your property fenced that will make it a little easier to keep an eye on him if you let him out?

Right now my newly spayed kitty is sitting on her window perch looking in the backyard.

yes me to i have two cats white colourpoint choclate and lilic cats they are so nice and i feel that someone will feed them because they go up to anyone and then the cats will want to stay there and also i am in the same situation as u with the main road and i feel that they will just walk across it without thinking. we do let the cats out when we are in the garden and the boy cat ollie hes got out a few times but if we clap he runs back in. but i reil dont want to let him out. maybe if we lived a big houes with lots of land x
